19th-century Snuff Bottle Decorated With Dragons And Phoenixes Amid Clouds

A beautiful antique opium snuff bottle, crafted from ivory, engraved on both sides, oval in cross-section, resting on a small foot, and topped with a small turned stopper shaped like a button.
On one side, a dragon is depicted soaring through the clouds in pursuit of the sacred pearl; on the other, a phoenix—a sacred bird—flies amid clouds rendered in the style of lingzhi mushrooms (mushrooms of long life).

Additional information: Ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I / A) pre-agreement, prior to June 1, 1947 in accordance with CE Regulation 338/97 of 12/09/1996 art.2-Wmc. For an exit from the EU, a CITES re-export will be necessary, this being the responsibility of the future purchaser. The issuance of such a document is not automatic. The future purchaser will have to inquire about the conditions of re-export because some countries do not allow the introduction of ivory specimens of Elephantidae on their territory.
