Antique 19th Century Chinese Silver Filigree And Enamel Snuff-box.

Beautifully made using fine hand-worked filigree silver, the lid decorated with a colourful enamelled Chinese lakeside/landscape scene: pavilions, boats, figures, trees, birds, and stylised mountains. The sides feature floral enamel scrollwork over a filigree ground.

The base of the snuff-box is equally finely decorated, matching the craftsmanship seen on the lid and sides. Its filigree work is crisp, detailed, and fully finished—not left plain as in lesser examples. The fact that the underside is also elaborately ornamented clearly demonstrates the superb quality and exceptional attention to detail devoted to this piece, marking it as a significantly higher-grade work within the tradition of Chinese silver filigree.

The interior is originally fire-gilded (gilt silver). The snuff-box closes well and the hinge is sound.

Condition: Good condition. Interior tarnished, and two tiny shallow pin-prick dents on the underside of the lid.
