English Mahogany And Leather Console Table, Late 19th Century, England
An interesting English mahogany console table with a leather top, dating from the late 19th century.
This elegant piece features two drawers on the front.
The base consists of two substantial baluster-shaped legs connected by a crossbar, which features a circular recess in the center serving as a display shelf or pedestal, perfect for showcasing a beautiful trinket, plant pot, statue, bowl, etc..
The top of our console table is covered in beautiful green English leather edged with gold trim. It shows a few very minor signs of wear.
This piece is in good condition, as found in a private home. We note water stains on the crossbar, likely caused by a plant pot (see photo 11), as well as a discreet repair on the inner side of one of the baluster legs. The interiors of both drawers are lined with vintage floral wallpaper.
