Late 19th-century Tie Pin. Fleur-de-lis
The spirit of defending the monarchy remained very much alive at the end of the 19th century, and it was considered fashionable for men to wear a fleur-de-lis-shaped pin on their tie.
This piece consists of a delicate pin made of hallmarked gold (a hallmark is present at the head of the pin, though it is very difficult to decipher) and a silver fleur-de-lis (the combination of metals was common until the end of the 19th century) set with yellow and white rhinestones.
A small stone is missing at the bottom; otherwise, it is in good condition.
It is sold in an antique pin case.
