This antique 18-karat gold brooch is set with a red stone (garnet, ruby, or Verneuil). The pin is shaped like a needle that disappears beneath the fabric, giving the impression that it passes right through it. It is ingenious and very elegant.
The small safety chain is adorned with tiny pearls, likely fine pearls.
