Victorian Double Heart Sweetheart Ruby Diamond Brooch In 9k Rose Gold
Victorian Diamond ruby heart brooch in 9 karats gold, silver and metal. Antique brooch with a central motif of two intertwined hearts, one set with diamonds, the other with natural rubies. The hearts are crowned with a ribbon forming a bow, and the whole is set in a gold circle adorned with alternating rubies and diamonds. This romantic motif was often revisited throughout the 19th century and also evokes Scottish "luckenbooth" brooches. Antique brooch, circa 1870, England.
