Lucky charm Van Cleef & Arpels "The 3 Inseparables" enameled charm pendant. This styptor lucky charm represents "The 3 Inseparables": a soldier, a hunchback, and a white horse. This enameled motif was inspired by the Parisian adage "on the Pont-Neuf, you will always meet a soldier, a white horse, and a hunchback*." This motif was first used on handbag clips, then as a brooch, and finally as a charm (in silver, styptor, and gold). VC&A Charm, 1933, France.
Marked "DEPOSE VCA" on the reverse. This piece of jewelry was inspired by Renée Rachel and designed by René Sim Lacaze.
