Historic bronze medal commemorating the 1902 Hanoi Exposition, complete with its rare original round leather case from the period.

This colonial collectible bears witness to the history of French Indochina and features high-quality artistic craftsmanship by the renowned sculptor and medalist Victor Peter (1840–1918).

Obverse (Front): An allegory of the French Republic (France), depicted as a standing, draped woman, extending a laurel branch to a seated allegorical figure symbolizing Indochina. In the background, scenes of work or exhibitions can be glimpsed.

At the bottom of the exergue, the inscription “INDO-CHINE FRANÇAISE” is engraved.

The case: A round case made of dark brown grained leather or percaline with a brass push-button clasp. The lid is stamped in gold letters: “EXPOSITION DE HANOÏ 1902.” The interior is lined with green velvet and silk (featuring a small original fabric tab for removing the medal).
