The doors are adorned with bronze bas-reliefs depicting troubadour musicians in the Renaissance style.
The cabinet is shaped like a miniature harmonium with a music box.
The mechanism plays two melodies, followed by the automatic opening of the two lower doors and the lid. The back of the doors provides a place to store matches and strike them using a scraper.
