Artist: Charlotte Perriand édition Sentou

This set of four chairs is the famous Dordogne model, produced in the 1950s and 1960s in France by Sentou. These chairs feature a four-legged frame made of round ash wood pieces connected by crossbars. The seat and backrest are made of woven rye straw. These pieces are entirely original and feature a lovely patina on the materials.

An iconic model of 20th-century design, these chairs never go out of style. They’ll add a vintage and authentic touch to your home. They can be placed around any style of table—wood, metal, marble, or glass—without ever looking out of place.

This product is in good vintage condition and features a lovely overall patina

ROBERT SENTOU: PIONEER OF DESIGN
Robert Sentou (1922–2008) was one of those designers eager to turn the page after World War II. In 1947, at the age of 25, in his native Périgord, he founded a furniture workshop that he named“la chaise paillée”. The reconstruction of cities was underway, and winter sports and seaside resorts were springing up everywhere

Very quickly, Robert Sentou saw his order book fill up. He was sought out by architects, interior designers, and leading designers—Roger Fatus, Lionel Morgaine, Étienne Fermigier, Roger Landault, Georges Candilis—who were looking for manufacturers for their creations. Charlotte Perriand also called on him to manufacture her straw-upholstered chairs, designed for the Les Arcs ski resort and also installed in Flaine.
