Pair Of Italian Ceccarelli Majolica Harlequin Figurines, Early 20th Century
Majolica-style earthenware, on pedestals. Each figurine, composed of two parts, depicts a buffoon and a female buffoon, in a style reminiscent of Maures’ sculptures.
Dressed in matching red, black, and yellow costumes, they are depicted dancing in opposite positions, with their heads tilted and arms raised.
Each figurine rests on a removable fluted pedestal, adorned with hanging green and orange fruits at the corners. Signed “Ceccarelli” on the base.
Approximate height: 145 cm (55.25 inches) for each figurine, 106 cm (41.75 inches) for the character, and 39 cm (15.25 inches) for the base.
