A printed silk bourette curtain dating from the French Second Empire. Rustic twill weave; a silk-cotton blend printed with a large striped pattern inspired by India and Indian textiles. Large vertical stripes on an Andrinople red background with stylized diamond motifs, alternating with bouquets of artichokes on a white background. Rich polychromy in green, red, ochre yellow, black, and blue. Unlined fabric with selvedges. In mint antique condition and never used. Excellent color and preservation
