Claw Brooch, Pearls, Gold And Silver 19th Century, Napoleon III
This beautiful and unusual piece of jewelry features a large feline claw mounted in a silver setting applied with gold scrolls and set with a rectangular green stone (peridot or beryl) and adorned at the top with a crown-shaped gold gallery with seven baroque fine pearls on shanks.
Tube-articulated brooch system and C-clasp (old replacement), white metal needle, perfectly functional.
Patina and wear inherent to its age.
Unmarked, tested with touchstone: silver and 18-carat gold.
