Beautiful neoclassical bronze clock inspired by Greek Antiquity representing a muse. Louis XVI style in gilded and patinated bronze, with antique bas-relief. The draped figure reclining next to a lyre and a book is reminiscent of Euterpe, the muse of music and lyric poetry. This type of iconography was very popular during the Second Empire, and a very refined salon clock. Mechanics complete, gilding slightly worn in some places. Signature of A.Carrier Fecit on the lyre.
