Mahogany Borne Clock By Charles Oudin, A Student Of Breguet
Artist: Charles Oudin
A mahogany veneer mantel clock, the circular dial enameled in white with Roman numerals and marked "Charles Oudin, pupil of Breguet," framed in a gilt bronze mount. The clock is in excellent condition; the mahogany case retains its original French polish and has been lightly waxed. The silk-thread mechanism has been fully restored by a professional; the steels and the "partridge eye" hands have been blued, and the mercury-gilt bronze mount has been cleaned and retains its original domed glass. Note: slight sun fading on the right side and the back door is a lighter shade of mahogany. In perfect working order with an antique bell and a beautiful chime. Ideal for complementing a Louis XVI, Directoire, or Empire style décor.
