"Table / Desk Middle Violin In Boulle Marquetry, Napoleon III Period"
Violin-shaped table or desk in the middle, in Boulle marquetry, brass and gilded mercury bronze. The tray is set with an ingot mold finely chiseled with acanthus leaves and ova, with a marquetry in engraved and engraved brass. The periphery of the table is decorated with four gilded bronze masks symbolizing Baccus, the set rests on four arched legs decorated with gilt bronze spangles, a decorative motif typical of the Regency period and Louis XV taken over by Napoleon III and finished with clogs. This table conceals a large and deep drawer veneered with Cuban mahogany. The tray is protected by a custom beveled glass top. The set is of a high quality, our cabinetmaker took care to restore this table in the rules of the art, a master bronzier took care of the complete cleaning and the mercury gilding of all the bronzes, also we we had a custom beveled glass tray made to protect the whole, which allows the dual function of table / work desk.
