In near-miraculous condition, a superb Khorjin Qashqai from Persia.
The art of ancient Persian weaving is brought together in this flamboyant little treasure.
Khorjins are bags once used by the nomadic peoples of Persia. They are often double saddlebags. The knotted-stitched face reveals variations in indigo blue hues, ranging from deep midnight blue to lighter tones. This is known as Abrash. The velvet measures around 1 cm, and to the touch you can feel the extreme softness of hand-spun wool. Sensational.
The central motif is a stylized scorpion with a floral pattern inside. This scorpion powerfully and centrally evokes protection against the evil eye.

The fastening system on the upper part is intact, it is woven. The front is knotted-stitch with short velvet. The back is woven. Here again, we'll appreciate the seductive presence of several shades of indigo blue.
