18th Century Louis XV Period Wall Shelf Or Freestanding Shelf In Fruitwood

Rare wall shelf or small occasional piece of furniture in fruitwood, provincial work from the Louis XV period, 18th century.
The piece immediately stands out for its highly distinctive and refined silhouette, featuring pierced shaped uprights with heart and cartouche motifs, a gently curved façade, and lower doors decorated with black-painted lozenge patterns.

This type of small provincial furniture has become increasingly difficult to find on today’s market, especially in such an appealing state of preservation and with such an untouched antique patina. The piece perfectly embodies the charm of 18th century provincial craftsmanship, with the flowing lines and organic movement characteristic of the Louis XV taste combined with a charming sense of rustic simplicity.
