The mastery of porcelain and kaolin, which had long been a mystery to Europe, became a reality in the 19th century, when a new competition was created: the production of Japanese-style porcelain by European & French workshops.
Monogrammed FF in the cookie on the reverse, this dish certainly comes from French porcelain factories such as Limoges. Its Imari-style decoration is very successful, the particularity of this dish being its rim mounted in solid silver with the minerve hallmark, probably to hide the rough appearance of the rims.
