Antique Cambodian Khmer Silver Betel Box Two Birds, Early 20th Century

Charming antique Cambodian silver betel box dating from the early 20th century, beautifully crafted in the shape of two stylized birds placed side by side.

The box is finely crafted with detailed plumage decoration, the bodies covered in a carefully chased scale pattern, with elegantly engraved wings and expressive heads.

The underside bears a workshop mark in Khmer script as well as the number 90, indicating silver with a purity of 900/1000.
