Antique Thai, Burmese, Malaysian Or Singapore Solid Silver Lime Container,

An antique solid silver lime container from Southeast Asia, traditionally used in the betel-chewing ceremony.

Hand-hammered from high-grade solid silver, the piece has a classic double-tapered form with applied filigree wirework on the lid and fine beaded bands encircling the body. It retains its original braided multi-strand silver chains, a feature found across various Southeast Asian traditions.

This type of container is known across Thailand, Burma (Myanmar), Malaysia, and Singapore, where betel chewing remained an important cultural practice well into the 19th and early 20th centuries. The interior still carries authentic lime residue from historical use.
