19th Century Italian Grand Tour Bronze Etruscan-style Oinochoe With Panther Handle

A fine 19th-century Italian Grand Tour bronze oinochoe (wine jug) in the Etruscan or classical revival style, featuring a striking handle in the form of a panther leaning over the spout. The body is richly decorated in high relief with scrolling foliage and masks inspired by ancient Greco-Roman motifs. The piece stands on a fluted pedestal foot and retains an attractive dark green patina with lighter highlights enhancing the modelling.

Such pieces were popular souvenirs of the Grand Tour in the 19th century, reflecting the fascination with archaeological discoveries and the aesthetics of classical antiquity.

Height: 26 cm.
Good condition, with patination and wear consistent with age.
