Very fine painting by Belgian painter Jules Merckaert, depicting a lively landscape of trèfles incarnats in the foreground with a dwelling in the background, in a bright, colorful atmosphere characteristic of his best period.

The work is titled on the back "Trèfles incarnats", signed lower right and countersigned on the reverse.
This painting perfectly illustrates the artist's stylistic evolution after 1918: lighter palette, vivid subject matter and energetic touch influenced by his stays in France, particularly in the Marne region where he worked alongside his views of Brussels and Schaerbeek.

Very fine composition in fresh, luminous colors, executed with a spontaneous, vibrant touch typical of the artist's mature works (1918-1924), now his most sought-after period.
