Navaja Self-defense Knife With Oloron Pike Punch. Antique. Thiers. Very Old Markings.
Here is the English translation :
Antique Navaja of French manufacture, bearing the famous "Jambe de bois" (Wooden Leg) punch mark of the house of Pique-Oloron, the characteristic and emblematic mark of this renowned maker.
Navajas of this size — 18.7 cm closed and 34 cm open — were everyday working knives, easily carried, and are generally found bearing significant signs of wear due to intensive use. Here, the mechanism is perfectly functional, with absolutely no play. The handle scales show some chips and marks of use (one cracked scale and a missing flower decoration on one rivet), consistent with the age of the piece and visible in the many photographs provided, but in no way affecting the solidity or functioning of the whole.
