This work illustrates human strength and resilience through the exaltation of the male body in movement. The nude, stripped of all artifice, becomes the universal language of energy and will. The emphasis placed on the contracted musculature and the forward-leaning posture translates the struggle of man against matter, a metaphor for existential effort. In mid-20th-century art, the male nude retains a symbolic value inherited from Antiquity: it is both a celebration of the physical ideal and the vehicle of a philosophical message, here that of inner power in the face of trials. The naked man, anchored in a monumental action, is part of a plastic tradition where the beauty of the body is inseparable from the representation of vital force.
