Narcisse Guilbert born June 12, 1867 inBouville (Seine-Maritime) and died February 23, 1942 in Rouen.

From a modest background, he had to reconcile his work as awork (then as a shopkeeper) with his passion for painting.

He studied at the École desdes Beaux-Arts de Rouen under the guidance of Philippe Zacharie.

His meeting with JosephDelattre at the painting academy the latter had founded.
Delattre becamementor and introduced him to plein-air "motif" work.
He assiduously frequents the Cercle de l'Art Moderne and makes friendsand befriended the great names of the Rouen scene (Robert Pinchon, Pierre Dumont),Pierre Dumont).
