Here is the English translation :
Title :
Rare Antique Toledo Navaja — Second Half of the 19th Century — Perfect Mechanism — Collector's Piece
Description :
A fine and authentic Toledo Navaja, embodiment of the great Spanish cutlery tradition, dating from the second half of the 19th century. Toledo, historically recognised as one of Europe's foremost centres for the manufacture of bladed weapons and knives, produced pieces of remarkable quality and refinement, of which this example is a fine testimony.
A very satisfactory state of preservation
Navajas of this size — 19.5 cm closed and 36.5 cm open — were everyday working knives and are generally found bearing pronounced signs of wear. This example stands out for its perfectly functional mechanism, with absolutely no play, and a well-preserved blade, which is remarkable for a piece of this age and use. The handle scales show marks of use as well as a slight crack of no consequence, perfectly consistent with the age of the piece and common for this type of 19th century working knife. These characteristics, visible in the many photographs provided, in no way affect the solidity or functioning of the whole and contribute to the authenticity of the piece.
