Oval bronze devotional plaque, featuring a ring at the top, a molded frame with an inner band decorated with simple geometric motifs, and a figurative relief on the recto. It depicts a man in habit, standing, holding a book in one hand (on which the Infant Jesus is depicted) and a cross on his shoulder in the other. Two pedestals are shown, one with a skull and the other with books. Compare with the rectangular plaque in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (inventory no. 2012.545.12), dating from the early 17th century. -
