Pair Of Hunters. Porcelain. France, 19th Century.
The two sculptures depict young hunters dressed in hunting attire, with richly polychromed jackets, vests and fitted pants. They stand on pedestals with a truncated pyramidal section, decorated in an intense blue, with relief applications adorned with classical medallions.
.They are unmarked, but the vividness and intensity of the polychromy, the architectural base and such decorative execution suggest that this is a piece from what is known as "Vieux Paris", i.e. from the Parisian manufactures of the late 18th to mid-19th centuries
