Bottle Carrier With Italian Case Decorated In The Arte Povera Technique. 19th Century
This is a singular 19th-century bottle case, both a utilitarian object and a decorative piece of marked character and personality. At the corners and edges, it is reinforced by metal fittings (with some missing), as well as hinges and handles, and a central lock that also acts as a decorative element.
The exterior of the bottle holder is a green-painted case decorated in the Italian arte povera technique, with country and equestrian scenes, done in the form of "decalscomanies
Inside, it houses a set of blown-glass bottles in good condition, with the exception of a few small chips on some neck edges. Varied in shape and size, some are particularly decorative, fitting the square structure of the crate. The set is completed by two small troncoconic glasses, which may suggest use, including in travel contexts.
