Wolkstedt Porcelain Group
Wolkstedt polychrome porcelain group. Second half of the 19th century. Y mark from 1877 to 1887. German hard porcelain very finely realized in both modeling and painting. This group depicts four figures, a woman and three cherubs, in a large shell known as a giant stoup (or giant tridacne). The ensemble rests on a rocaille base featuring scrolls, rocks, coral and seaweed. The composition is of fine quality, the faces expressive, the painting in delicate colors is executed with great finesse and pleasant nuance. Note 2 small missing pieces (on the arm of a cherub and the tip of a leaf).
