So this is a new work by Louis Moreau, after the lot of several oils sold a few weeks ago, this time it's a watercolor where the painter depicts fishermen on the banks of the Seine in Paris with Notre Dame in the vanishing point. Produced around 1920, Moreau is in full possession of his art, mastering both watercolor and oil, using his usual stylized touch and a very subtle palette.

I no longer need to introduce Louis Moreau, surely my favorite painter of the Crozant school.Crozant school, one of my favorites along with Detroy, Coucy and MarcelBelle.
Recorded in the Crozant school, but also and above all an excellentalso known for his views of Brittany and, last but not least, for his writings.was a fervent anarchist militant, and published numerous worksHe was a fervent anarchist and published numerous anti-Nazi works with sumptuous illustrations,an extraordinary painter, to be compared with the militancy ofMaximilien Luce. Libertarian and pacifist, seeking neither glory nor honourhonor, he nonetheless left a substantial body of work, some of itbut also some sumptuous paintings.
