19th-century Silver-plated Electric Hot-water Bottle Lamp
Bouillotte lamps have made their mark on decoration since the Louis XVI period, and have since been widely reproduced in bronze, painted metal and even solid silver.
The model presented here appears to be early 19th century, given the mounting of the base, made in a beautiful silver-plated metal with very little wear.
The lampshade was changed in the 20th century, respecting the original model in green painted canvas on the outside, white for the reflective effect on the inside.
The shade is height-adjustable, as is the candlestick wreath.
We drilled the foot and bobeches to electrify it a few years ago. The wire and supplies date from the 80's.
Somewhat large, very sober, it will be perfect in a Louis XVI or early XIXth decor.
