Early XVIIIe. Large Gilded Drawing Stick
Large rod, with a well-defined profile for a large drawing (ideal for an academy) made in the late 16th or early 17th century.
It is assembled with original keys and has its antique glass and a cut and beveled pine base.
Reused in the 19th century to frame an engraving, you can see that when first used, the bottom had been closed with pieces of a handwritten score.
Ancient traces of chironning, very nice patina, never re-gilded.
Presence of a strong rectangular ring to fix it to the wall, then added in the 19th century two round rings
Dimensions of the rabbet : 63 cm x 51.5 cm
