18th Century. Spain. "sagrario Expositor." For Displaying A Statue

Baroque piety, following the Council of Trent, provided an opportunity to make all elements of the liturgy spectacular—and sometimes to create objects designed to highlight a particular part of it. 
This piece of furniture is quite rare; it allows a large monstrance containing a precious relic or a statue of a patron saint to be presented for a brief moment for the veneration of the faithful. 
Indeed, the rotunda-shaped door—gilded with two-tone gold leaf—swivels away in two parts, thereby forming the back of the niche that houses the object of prayer.
This back panel is also gilded in the same manner.
The pilasters are topped with gilded foliage decorations.
The round, fixed base inside measures 25 cm in diameter and can hold an object approximately 65 cm in size. 
It is likely that this base could have been covered with precious fabric to conceal the structure of the metal mechanism. 
The open niche is 78 cm high by 41 cm wide.
The few similar pieces of furniture I have been able to find are Spanish, which fits well with the exterior decoration. 
Small missing sections on the sides, a somewhat simple base, and a missing pediment in no way detract from the spectacular nature of this object, which is just waiting for a marvelous item to display
