"The Hussar Returns To His Village, Watercolor, Late 19th Century "
Proud of his beautiful uniform, this young hussar returns to the village. He looks proud, with his dollman, his magnificent frogs, and his shako, he is ready to make hearts capsize. Jules Marcoux (1867 - ?) is a French artist who humorously represented his contemporaries, such as soldiers and priests in their interiors. He belongs to this pictorial movement, descriptive then very fashionable, full of charm and smile. The watercolor, very fresh, is originally framed in a charming Louis XV style frame in gray and gold stucco which deserves to be repaired, because it is of very nice quality. Dimensions of the work: 38 cm x 25 cm
