16th Century. Louis XIII Frame In Carved And Gilded Wood
Louis XIII period gilded wood frame with gold leaf, composed of a strong wood baguette carved with deep leaves assembled with keys.
The back was sanded in places a long time ago to reduce the visibility of insect attack.
There are none now.
The gold part shows visible wear on the photos. This can be mitigated, but I preferred to leave it that way to avoid any surprises for those interested.
The thickness of the rod gives it an undeniable presence and will enhance both an antique drawing and a modern work.
Dimensions of rabbet: 35.8cm x 24.7cm
