The Kid With The Big Hat
A hat far too big for that little child's head—that's what the painter must have thought as he tenderly sketched this boy's profile portrait. Painted in 1854, in the style of the Old Flemish masters, this charming sketch reveals the quiet grace of a young peasant. Mounted some time ago, the painting has been restored, and I am having it revarnished to enhance the contrasts. The signature is present but, for now, does not reveal the artist's identity. Very good overall condition.
