Born into a family of Italian painters whose parents arrived in France in 1910, Mario BONAMICI was introduced to drawing and painting at an early age. At the age of sixteen, he attended the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs and began his career as an illustrator at the renowned Jarach et Chambry studio. He frequented the worlds of fashion, theater and cinema. His brilliant pencil stroke was noticed, and he spent part of his professional life in France and Switzerland as a fashion designer, alongside his career as a painter.
This large and beautiful work, a colorful oil on panel from the 1970s, depicts a view of the famous Place du Tertre in Paris' Montmartre district. The fast, colorful brushstrokes create vibrations that bring life to this crowded place.
