West Cameroon, Bamiléké people, first third of the 20th century, superb and important zoomorphic helmet-mask of great antiquity depicting a stylized buffalo head with curved horns presenting an engraved decoration and a beautiful ornate jaw. This rare Babanki-Tungo mask is worn by members of the "Yam Fun" society. Dimensions: Total height with the base 52.5 (cm). Height of the mask alone 47.5 (cm). Length of the mask 51.5 (cm). The scale indicator on the last photograph is a small model of lighter from a well-known brand. Good condition except for slight normal wear and tear without incidence.
