It comes from the Luba ethnic group, near the Kathanga River, in DR Congo/Zaire, in Central Africa. The hands are gathered on the stomach/navel (the breast/center of the body) with a copper inclusion. The tripartite hair/headdress is very worked, the eyes are prominent, the feet wide and powerful, well placed/anchored to the ground. Monoxyl sculpture. Dark brown patina. Very good condition (see descriptive photos). Wooden support. Weight: 150 grams.
