Louis XV Style Lantern In Gilt Bronze And Crystal, Circa 1900.
Louis XV style "cage" lantern, hexagonal shape with six sides.
The gilded bronze structure is composed of slender uprights housing glazed panels. It houses an interior chandelier with six arms of light, arranged in a regular pattern. The ensemble is adorned with cut and molded crystal pendants, including daggers and star-shaped elements, distributed around the frame.
The mount features supple lines, with scrolled arms inspired by rocaille vocabulary, in a simple interpretation of the Louis XV style.
The lantern is accompanied by its top cover (cup) to conceal the electrical connection, as well as a bronze suspension chain, not used in the photographs, to adjust the height.
Made circa 1900.
It is presented in good condition, complete with its crystal elements, and in working order.
Decorative lantern, suitable for an entrance, vestibule or passageway room.
