Pair Of Byzantine-style Bronze Candlesticks, XVIIIth C.

Antique pair of bronze tripod candlesticks with lion feet, inspired by Byzantine-Romanesque models, finely engraved with plant and animal motifs, and a pair of griffins on each side. The body features a slanted net with floral decorations and the typical Greek crosses in the center. These bronzes were possibly cast between the late 17th and early 19th centuries. The objects retain an exceptional patina.
