Still Life With Flowers And Fruit, First Half Of The 18th Century.
Artist: Sphère De Maximillian Pfeiler
A beautiful still life or “capriccio” of flowers and fruit, characterized by light and luminous hues that bring out the vivid colors of the elements, such as the orange of the melon and the red of the vine leaves. The still life, composed of summer fruits, is set on a multi-tiered base against a backdrop of a clear sky.
The painting was formerly attributed to the prestigious French painter Maximillian Pfeiler; however, it is more likely that this work was executed by one of his talented French followers during the first half of the 18th century.
The painting is set in a gilded Salvador Rosa frame from the period. The painting is in excellent condition.
Canvas dimensions: 90 cm x 67 cm (height); framed dimensions: 105 cm x 82 cm (height).
A historical certificate of authenticity is included with the sale.
