Late 17th Century Pair Of Paintings With Flowers And Fruit
Refined and unique pair of oil paintings on canvas, in
carved wooden frames, finely gilded with gold leaf. The paintings depict two
still lifes with flowers and fruit, symbols of good luck and wealth: in the
first, flowers are depicted in a basket, while mushrooms and various fruits are
depicted on a table. In the other, flowers are depicted in a copper vase, while
on the right is a fruit basket with bunches of grapes, daisies, and
pomegranates. The stylistic execution of these paintings is remarkable,
highlighted by the skillful use of chiaroscuro and the meticulous attention to
detail. This pair of paintings exudes great taste and refinement, capable of
lending a touch of class and antiquity to any setting. Tuscan craftsmanship
from the late 17th century.
