Kirman Judaïca Wool And Silk Persian Rug - Symbolic Scene, 20th Century
Kirman carpet, made in Iran around the 1950s under the Pahlavi dynasty. This refined piece combines wool and silk on a cotton foundation, offering both finesse and strength.
Its Judaica-inspired decor is distinguished by a composition rich in symbols and characters. It features an architectural scene structured by columns, incorporating various representations: an agronomist figure on the left, a central view evoking the Wailing Wall, and on the right a depiction of Moses carrying the Tables of the Law. The upper border features an inscription referring to the twelve tribes of Israel.
With an estimated density of between 9,000 and 10,000 knots per square decimeter, this rug testifies to highly precise workmanship, probably achieved by a craftsman with perfect mastery of this traditional art.
