"Isfahan Rug “esfahan Akbar” In Kork Wool & Silk "
Persian rug from Isfahan, Iran, designed by master weaver Akbar. Made of fine kork wool and natural silk on a silk warp and weft, this woven masterpiece boasts an exceptional density of 10,000 knots per square decimeter—a museum-quality design. The central motif depicts a vibrant paradise scene: a teeming tree of life inhabited by mythical birds (probably Simurghs), surrounded by a variety of terrestrial fauna (deer, lions, horses, hares, gazelles). The ensemble evokes a Persian Garden of Eden, a symbol of abundance and harmony. The composition, perfectly symmetrical and refined, is typical of the greatest schools of Isfahan. The subtle yet vibrant color palette combines carmine red, midnight blue, ivory, gold, olive green, turquoise, pale pink, and pearl gray. The main border, set against a deep blue background, is richly adorned with floral scrolls and stylized animals. Signed in the center of the lower border: “Esfahan Akbar” (اصفهان اکبر). Dimensions: 113 cm x 178 cm Condition: Excellent — glossy velvet and relief perfectly preserved
