A superb and significant okimono carved from a single block of ivory, finely carved, depicting an old man carrying two children in a large wicker basket, accompanied by a third child walking beside him. This scene of everyday life is characteristic of high-quality Japanese craftsmanship from the Meiji period.

The work demonstrates remarkable mastery of ivory carving: the delicacy of the faces, the richness of the expressions, and the precision of the clothing, ropes, and wickerwork.
