"Tabriz Carpet Made In Wool, Iran, Circa 1940."
TABRIZ carpet made of wool on cotton foundations, of Iranian origin, dating from the 20th century, around 1940. It is characterized by a decoration similar to the Ardebil carpet which is exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The star of this rug is the magnificent multi-lobed rosette in ivory color, with a turquoise heart, it is crowned with majestic ornate petals, and rests on a field of fine green color. Consists of two pendants in the shape of oil lamps. A counter border in ivory color with bluish branches, as well as another with flowers and "chis" encircling the main border in fuchsia color Measurements: Length: 366 cm Width: 246 cm
