Mid-19th Century Napoleon III Mahogany Secretary
Refined and unique writing desk made of finely carved solid mahogany. Featuring a linear and elegant shape, it features a gray marble top with white veining. The writing desk also features unique and distinctive lost-wax cast and gilded bronze locks and keys, typical of Marseilles. The piece features a drawer under the top and a hinged door that opens onto several shelves and six small drawers, ergonomically designed for storage. The hinged door is also adorned with a leather covering with gold engravings, lending further elegance and was used for writing. The end section consists of two doors that open onto two shelves, the lower of which has a safe lock. This is a writing desk of great taste and refinement, capable of lending a touch of class and antiquity to any space. French manufacture from the Napoleon III period, around the mid-19th century.
